Norway were unlucky to miss out a trip to EURO 2016 in the summer. They finished 3rd in their qualifying group just behind Italy and Croatia, although their return of 19 points from ten games highlighted an appropriate performance from them. Nevertheless, they couldn’t produce it in the playoff tie with Hungary as they lost 3-1 on aggregate. The Norwegians haven’t had any fortune in the qualification stages since their last appearance at the Euros in 2000. They made it to two consecutive World Cup tournaments during 1994 and 1998, since then they failed in the last four qualifiers. But they are drawn in a tough group and need a mountain to climb in case they want to qualify for 2018 trip to Russia.

Meanwhile, German National team continued to display their attacking style of football in the past couple of seasons. In each of the last four qualifying campaigns for Euros and World Cups, they have qualified as group winners under Low’s patronage. The same can be expected this campaign as they are drawn in a comparatively easy group which includes San Marino, Northern Ireland, Czech Republic and Azerbaijan besides Sunday’s antagonist Norway.

Norway Vs Germany: Head-to-Head Stats

Last time these two teams met was in a friendly fixture at Dusseldorf on February 2009 in which Norway earned an unexpected 1-0 win.
