On the night of March 16–17, Moscow Time, at the Allianz — Juventus Stadium in Turin (Italy), Juventus hosted Villarreal in the 1/8 finals of the UEFA Champions League. Unfortunately, the guests won 3:0.
The score was opened in the second half. In the 78th minute, the Yellow Submarine forward Gerard Moreno scored a penalty against Juventus. In the 85th minute, defender Pau Torres doubled Villarreal’s advantage. In the time added to the second half, Arno Groeneveld scored from an 11-meter shot.

The game was served by a Polish team of referees led by Szymon Marciniak. He was assisted by assistants Pavel Sokolnicki and Tomasz Listkiewicz. The reserve referee is Pavel Raczkowski.
Recall that the first meeting of the teams ended in a draw with a score of 1:1. In their quartet, Villarreal scored 10 points and reached the 1/8 finals of the Champions League from second place in Group F. Juventus scored 15 points and finished the group stage in first place in the standings of Group H.
Thus, Villarreal reached the 1/4 finals of the Champions League, and Juventus completed participation in the tournament.
