Real Madrid and Sergio Ramos are still in talks over a potential new deal, according to the Spanish sources. However, it doesn’t mean that the future of the famous centre back at Bernabéu remains unclear. Los Blancos are sure that they will be able to extend the contract with their key player. It is said that Real Madrid don’t want to offer longer than a one-year deal to any footballer over 30 years old, with no exceptions being made for Sergio Ramos. But, according to reports, the Spaniard, who will turn 35 next year, is demanding a two-year contract. The duration of the contract isn’t the only thing the defender needs. It is added that Ramos wants an increase on his salary, which now stands at a net figure of €15 million per year. Anyway, both sides hope to reach a compromise in the nearest future. Since moving from Sevilla, the 34-year-old player has made more than 650 appearances for Real Madrid, and despite his age, his influence over the club only seems to be increasing.
