France national football team has made a big change in their team squad for 2014 FIFA World Cup. Their star winger Franck Ribery is out of Brazil World Cup due to injury at his back. The player has been suffered a lot with this injury with his current football club Bayern Munich. To replace him, France have called Morgan Schneiderlin & Remy Cabella.
Franck Ribery is not playing World Cup 2014
France football team coach Didier Deschamps has called up 2 players who can replace the Bayern winger in summer world cup. Only 6 days are left for the competition & the coach have to make a new strategy without Franck Ribery. During a press conference on Friday, the national team coach said
This morning Ribery stopped during a run. Now, he cannot train. Rests have confirmed a worsening of the situation. He cannot play. We must stay ambitious, but of course we would have been stronger with Ribery at 100%.
This is the second bad news for France after Clement Grenier’s thigh injury. They are now looking to a player who can fill the vacant space of 31 years old player. The player has huge role behind the success of this team as we have seen his performance in 2006 world cup in which the team finished at second place.
Although have some other players Like Karim Benzema but his absence would be big loss for whole team. Again, Manchester City’s Samir Nasri missed out on a call. Deschamps has already been forced to re-jig his original selection, keeper Steve Mandanda being replaced by St. Etienne stopper Stephane Ruffier. There are strong confirmations about Antonie Griezman who can replace Ribery.
France will play round of 32 matches against Switzerland, Ecuador & Honduras. They will play first match of this round on 15 June 2014 against Honduras & second one against Switzerland. Last match is scheduled against Ecuador. To qualify for the next round they have to win at least 2 games out of three. Can France do it without Franck Ribery?
