Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo has officially moved to Major League Soccer side New York City FC. The 36 year old Italian playmaker will join up with Frank Lampard and David Villa as the third and last designated player allowed in the squad. Each MLS club is allowed maximum three designated players whose salaries exceed the maximum budget limit of club. On 6th July, New York City FC officially confirmed transfer of Andrea Pirlo via Twitter account. Pirlo arrives to New York City FC on a free transfer from Juventus and will join the club on 21st July. Pirlo said in exclusive interview with club conference “I have been wanting this experience for a long time and now that the opportunity materialized I wanted to take it. This a club on the rise and share my same hunger to achieve important results in the League. I am hoping to win.”

A World Cup winner in 2006, Pirlo represented 115 times for his country and scored 13 times. Pirlo has spent his all professional career in Italy and in nearly 700 matches at club level he won two Champions League titles and six Italian titles.
