The host spent the majority of last season in the bottom three of French Ligue 1, before a great escape at the end of the season saw them avoid the drop by just one point. They started the new campaign very positevly despite the sale of their talismanic forward Wissam Ben Yedder. They opened the season with a 0-0 stalemate at Marseille and then trash Bordeaux 4-1 at home. Another 0-0 draw followed, this time against Saint-Etienne, before they lost for the first time in season to Bastia in matchweek four. However, they haven’t allowed this to become a good run of form with 2-1 victories against Guingamp and Lille since. After such a strong start Toulouse occupies 3rd spot in the table at the moment.

On the other hand, PSG started the season with a 4-1 demoliting of Lyon in the French Super Cup, but their Ligue 1 opener was not so persuasive. They win Bastia 1-0 on the road, then defeated Metz by a 3-0 margin. Their first defeat came much earlier than expected when the in-form Monaco won 3-1, and PSG then settled for two consecutive draws against Saint-Etienne and Arsenal to make it three games without a win for the first time since 2014. PSG showed their class by responding in emphatic fashion. Edinson Cavani scored four goals to help PSG to grab a 6-0 victory at Caen last weekend, and midweek saw them win 3-0 at home to Dijon.

Toulouse Vs PSG: Head-to-Head stats
