Chelsea FC are planning to sign Tottenham’s manager Mauricio Pochettino as the replacement of embattled Antonio Conte who may likely leave this summer.
Rumours are rife that Conte may quit his job at Stamford Bridge after Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester United.
The Blues failed to secure a ticket for Champions League football next season and heads are set to roll starting with the Italian who guided Chelsea to win the Premier League title in his debut season.
Other top profile managers like Luis Enrique and Maurizio Sarri have also been linked to the position if Conte left.
However, It seems the Chelsea executives are impressed by the job done by Pochettino in North London. In his reign as Spurs manager, the club has qualified for Champions League football on three consecutive occasions operating on a tight budget. Another factor that counts in the Argentine’s favour is the experience of Premier League football.
With three years left on his current Spurs contract, it’s going to take something special for Abramovich to snap up Pochettino from their rivals.
