Jesus failed to find the back of the net in Russia as Brazil were knocked out by Belgium in the quarter-finals, but he was instrumental in City’s record-breaking season last term, scoring 13 times with the highlight coming on the last day of the League at St Mary’s.

The Brazilian international managed seven league goals in his first season (2016/17) that was cut short by injury

The 21-year-old joined City from Brazilian side Palmeiras in January 2017 for an initial fee of £27m.
