In the 2015/2016 season Bayern lifted their fourth consecutive Bundesliga title after beating Borussia Dortmund by 10 points. For the 2016/17 season the German giants will have a new training mastermind behind the wheel in Carlo Ancelotti. Bayern were reigning in the Bundesliga in over a decade now. Nevertheless, Bayern still made some crucial additions strong into their squad this season. Namely, Matts Hummels was signed in the second half of last season and the loan deal for Kingsley Coman was made permanent for a €21 million transfer fee from PSG. Bayern also bought the young Benfica starlet Renato Sanches, who had an outstanding performance during the Euro 2016.
Meanwhile, Werder Bremen had a catastrofic 2015/16 season in which they finished 13th. Head coach Viktor Skrypnyk is in charge of the club since October 2014 and he will be setting his eyes for a top table finish this term. Bremen’s side had an active transfer window after bringing in as many as 14 new players to strengthen the squad that failed miserably last season. First of all they bought: the defenders Fallou Digne and Lamine Sane, and a striker Justin Eilers, who scored 23 goals for Dynamo Dresden last season.
