2017 FIFA World Cup Under 17 Start Date with Qualified Teams, Host Nation Info

For the first time in the history, India is going to organize an international football competition. This means the Under 17 football World Cup will be hosted in India, which was announced on 5th December 2013. It is the seventeenth edition of this football championship. The All India Football Federation hinted that this is the biggest step of Indian football at the international level. Start date: 19 August 2017 End date: 10 September 2017 The opening game of under 17 football world cup will be played on 19th of August 2017 between the host country and the other side. It will run for 21 days and the final will be played on 10th September. Host Nation: On 5th December 2013, the governing body of football, FIFA announced the India as the winner of 2017 U17 world cup bidder. There were three more bidders, Azerbaijan, Ireland and Uzbekistan in the race of hosting this campaign.

AFC [Asia]: 5 teams CAF [Africa]: 4 teams CONCACAF [Central, North America]: 4 teams CONMEBOL [South America]: 4 teams OFC [Oceania]: 1 team UEFA [Europe]: 6 teams There will be total of 24 national under 17 football teams in this competition from 6 confederations. Right now, we can only confirm India as qualified team. But stay tuned for more updates as the list will be updated after new qualified teams. 

2017 FIFA World Cup U17 Brand Ambassador

Coca Cola, one of the main sponsor of the competition announced former Indian cricket Sourav Ganguly as the Brand Ambassador of 2017 under 17 football world cup. We all know his passion about football in the first season of Indian Super League. The co-owner of ISL club Atletico de Kolkata won the inaugural season and is taking Indian football to new heights. Debabrata Mukherjee, the vice president of Coca Cola India and South West Asia said “Ganguly is on board and a part of the team that will lead our charge towards the FIFA Under-17 World Cup football 2017. This could be a watershed event on the Indian football canvas.” Venues: India announced the list of 6 hosting cities to host the championship. The cities are New Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, Margao, Bangalore, Kolkata, Kochi, Guwahati and Navi Mumbai.
