The summer transfer window comes to a close, but it doesn’t mean there isn’t still massive interest in transfer news of the football world. Wolverhampton have just confirmed they signed Nelson Semedo from Barca and the deal is worth around £37 million along with potential add-ons. The right-back, who won two La Liga titles after he left Benfica to join Barcelona, made 42 appearances for the Catalan club during the last campaign. Wolves see the Portuguese international as a replacement for Matt Doherty, who left Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to join Tottenham earlier this summer. The Wolves’ boss had already strengthened the team with Ki-Jana Hoever, who moved from the Reds — but the 26-year-old player offers a more seasoned alternative on the right flank, with more than 100 matches in the ranks of the La Liga giants. Semedo will stay at Molineux for three years, with an option to prolong his contract until 2025.
