In the opening game of the season “Watford” played pretty well against the well-balanced “Southampton” side. Though the brilliant attacking duo Ighalo-Deeny hasn’t scored the team’s game looked quite solid. Watford played decently in defence and showed stability in the middle. Conte’s team played an exemplary match against Hammers. “Chelsea” was in a complete control for the whole 90 minutes of the game and wasn’t giving “West Ham” any chance to spread their wings. It was obvious that the addition of N’golo Kante to their squad will supply Chelsea with more balance in midfield. The Frenchman burned out the whole center of the pitch. Branislav Ivanovic also held a very strong match, though lots of Blue’s fans don’t count on him this season. Eden Hazard looked very sharp, he is clearly inspired by the arrival of the new manager. Watford Vs Chelsea Head to Head stats Watford’s 1–0 win in 1999 is the Hornets’ only win over the Blues in their last 15 meetings in all competitions (D5 L9). Watford have met Chelsea three times at Vicarage Road in the Premier League (W1 D1 L1), with their only win coming back in September 1999, 1–0 with a goal from Allan Smart. Antonio Conte has lost just one of his last 31 league games as a club manager (W28 D2). Eden Hazard has scored five goals in his last six Premier League appearances — this after failing to find the net in his 29 league appearances before that.
