The hosts from Valencia are on a good run of form as they have won three of their last four games which allowed the team to scramble out of the relegation zone. They are currently occupying the 14th place of the league standings, only two points above the bottom three area. Their most recent match resulted in a 2–1 victory over Sporting Gijon on the road at the El Molinon Stadium on Sunday. Spanish loanee midfielder Mario Suárez scored twice to lead Los Che. It was also a marvelous welcome for new head coach Cesare Prandelli, commencing his Valencia reign with a victory.

On the other hand, Barcelona responded well to their previous fiasco against Celta Vigo by sweeping Deportivo La Coruna out, 4–0, at the home ground of the Camp Nou last Saturday. Young Brazilian winger Rafinha netted a brace in the 21st and 36th minute to start Barça’s attack before striker Luis Suárez made it a 3–0 advantage in the 43rd, giving the hosts a 3–0 lead at the break. The talismanic striker and the current Barca skipper Lionel Messi returned from a groin injury and came off the bench in the 55th minute. Messi sealed the win three minutes later as he directed Neymar’s cross past the outstretched arms of Deportivo keeper German Lux, completing the Blaugrana’s four-goal rout.

Barcelona: Predicted Line-up (4–3‑3)
