Toronto FC missed out on the opportunity to build a lead at the top of the MLS Eastern Conference table at the weekend when they only managed to settle for a 1-1 draw at their home turf to Philadelphia Union. It is obvious that the hosts aren’t in the best shape at this moment. The draw at the weekend made it just one victory from their last four matches, and they are now winless in three consecutive home matches in the MLS. Prior to that they had won five in a row though, so the danger is definitely there, but without their star man Sebastian Giovinco they seem to struggle. As regards other injury news, Jay Chapman, Mark Bloom and Astone Morgan are also sidelined.

Meanwhile, Orlando City are in a terrible run of form though. At the weekend they were beaten with a 4-1 scoreline by DC United to make it three losses in a row. In each of these games they have conceded four goals, and as a result they have slipped behind in the race for the MLS postseason. Orlando City are currently in 8th spot, three points behind of the top six and with just four matches remaining to play. They really need to hit the top gear if they want to lay claim to one of the top six playoff spots.
