Serie A side Torino are planning a complex operation to hire Arsenal loan celebrity Lucas Torreira during the winter transfer window. The Uruguayan international left the Gunners to join Atletico Madrid on a loan deal this summer, and the La Liga club have an option to sign him on a permanent basis next year.
The 24-year-old player has numerous suitors in Europe, particularly Torino, where his former Sampdoria coach wanted him earlier this year. Torino are elaborating a complicated plan that would involve Atletico Madrid agreeing to terminate his loan and return him to Arsenal before Torino sign him in January.
The Italian club are preparing to negotiate with the footballer’s representatives and promise him a key role in Marco Giampaolo’s squad. While the midfielder has shown enthusiasm to work with his former Sampdoria coach again and he could agree to join Torino, the main difficulty lies in convincing Arsenal and Atletico Madrid to agree to the move.
