Nominations for FIFA 2014 Best Coach of the Year

The names of FIFA World Coach of the Year 2014 for Men’s Football awards have been unveiled with candidates of FIFA Ballon D’Or 2014 nominees. The list of ten coaches name has been nominated for the FIFA World Coach by the FIFA Football Committee. On 1 December 2014, FIFA will announce the names of the top three coaches for men football. Like former Liverpool player Luis Suarez exclusion from the list of FIFA Ballon D’Or, the coach of Liverpool Brendan Rodgers who led Liverpool to second in the Premier League last season has not included in the list of FIFA World Coach. Rodger’s absence has been definitely echoed in the shortlist.

The following list is in alphabetical order with the coach sir names, nationality and then team who are in contention for the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men’s Football 2014.

Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho, Manchester City’s Manuel Pellegrini and Manchester United’s Louis van Gaal are among the managers from Premier League named on FIFA 10 man short list.

Jupp Heynckes who won this award last time is not in the list as he is retired. Atletico Madrid’s current coach Diego Simeone has been listed for his brilliant management las season winning La Liga 2013-14 and finishing UEFA Champions League 2013-14 at second spot.

The World Cup winning manager Joachim Low has been also nominated in the list after long time. His World Cup title is the main reason behind this listing in FIFA World Coach 2014. Real Madrid’s Carlo and Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola are the other success managers who have shortlisted in the FIFA World Coach of the Year.

The list also features, Argentina’s Alejandro Sabella, former Juventus manager Antonio Conte and USA national football team coach Juergen Klinsmann. The USA manager had successful 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament finishing World Cup at 15th spot.

The award is based on votes from managers and captains of international teams as well as journalists from all around the world. Names of top 3 contenders for this award will be revealed after few weeks and the winner will be announced on 12th January 2015.
