Middlesbrough Vs Manchester City Live Online Commentary

Middlesbrough granted some much needed hope to their supporters in midweek as they beat Sunderland 1–0 at the home ground of Riverside Stadium, ending a sequence of nine matches without a victory in all tournaments and picking up their first English Premier League win since the middle of December. This makes it one win, three draws, and seven losses in their last 11 Premier League matches and puts them 19th in the league standings, six points adrift of safety and with a very difficult run of fixtures to end the season. Goalscoring has been their major issue this season. They have scored only 24 league goals in their 34 matches so far and have failed to score in seven of their last 11 outngs in the Premier League. At home they notched five goals in their last eight league matches. On the other hand, Pep Guardiola’s men kept their spot in the top four in midweek, but they will feel a bit hard done by to have only settled for a draw with Manchester United at home. The Red Devils defended very well throughout that match and managed to keep the match goalless, even after going a man down. This makes it two victories, three draws, and three losses for Manchester City in their last eight matches in all tournaments, which includes their FA Cup exit with the hands of Arsenal last weekend. In the Premier League they have won two, drawn four, and lost one of their last seven matchess. The Citizens surprisingly perform better on the road, winning four of their last six and losing just once. They have managed to keep a clean sheet in all four of these victories, and their defensive line looks to be getting more solid every week since the return of their skipper and the key central defender Vincent Kompany.
