Pep Guardiola’s side Manchester City finally returned on winning track on Saturday as they swept aside West Brom 3–0 on the road at the Hawthorns, with star marksman Sergio Aguero netting a brace alongside German international Ikay Gundogan. This ended head coach Pep Guardiola’s worst ever managerial run of form after six games without a victory, and it was the worst winless run Manchester City had suffered since 2008 as the players struggled to cope with the demands of Guardiola’s playing style. One of these six winless games was their 4–0 hammering at the Camp Nou in October, with Lionel Messi bagging a hat trick and Neymar adding a 4th late on as both sides finished with ten men. On the other hand, the Catalan side Barcelona aren’t doing overly well themselves though. Despite such big guns as Messi, Neymar, and Suarez all starting the match, they only managed a narrow 1–0 victory over the minor team Granada at the weekend. This made it six wins and two losses in their last eight matches in all tournaments, with losses coming at home to rivals Espanyol and away to Celta de Vigo. As regards injury news, Andres Iniesta and Arda Turan are sidelined, as well as four defenders: Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, Aleix Vidal and Jeremy Mathieu. Manchester City Vs Barcelona : Head-to-Head Stats Barcelona have won five and lost one of their six meetings with Manchester City.
