Manchester City has just acquired a new player – Rodri has been signed by the FC. The player left Atlético Madrid. The transfer is reportedly worth €70m. The given sum offset the equal amount received by Leicester City for Riyad Mahrez the previous summer.
The 23-year-old defensive midfielder has accepted a five-year deal with Manchester City right after Atlético came up with the announcement that the Spain international’s €70m release clause had been met by the Premier League champions.
The newly-signed player told that he’s totally amazed by what the FC have done for the last two years. It makes him be proud of becoming part of such a skilled team. The player added that what amazes him most is the way the team managed to gain the titles. He appreciates this style and wants to stick with it.
The club’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain told that Rodri is demonstrating a sturdy defense, easily receives the ball and then makes the most of it. He added that he considers the player to be an ideal fit for Pep Guardiola’s squad and hopes he’ll make the team successful.
