Liverpool has ended Man City win streak with 4-3 win

Tonight Manchester City faced Liverpool and lost first Premier League match in the season. Two sides clashed head-to-head at Anfield. This time hosts had to play with current Premier League leaders with incredible 17-match unbeaten streak.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored the first goal on early 9’. Then Reds made another three goals in the second half. City could have ended with only one goal, scored by Sané at 40’, but Bernardo Silva and Gündogan added two points literally in the last 7 minutes.

Jurgen Clopp’ side has won it with 4-3. Also, it was the first game for Reds since selling Coutinho to Barca for £142m. Everybody has wondered how Klopp with his squad would play after leaving of the main attacker. However, other players such as Alex Oxlade, Firmino, Mané, and Salah proved that they can compensate the departure.

For the “unbeatable” City it was one of the worst 90 minutes in the season. Liverpool undoubtedly deserved the victory, but for Guardiola side, it’s still great and unassailable campaign. The leaders continue floating ahead of the table with 62 points, while their rivals including Liverpool are hobbling to the top with 47 points.

Next City faces Newcastle at Etihad Stadium on 20 January, and Liverpool will clash with Swansea on Monday 22.
