Lionel Messi has broken numerous records during his career for Barcelona, and here is another one! The Argentine has become the first footballer to score in 16 consecutive Champions League campaigns after kicking a goal in Barcelona’s win over Ferencvaros. Only Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has scored in 16 Champions League campaigns. However, his achievement was not in consecutive years. Messi went through difficult times this summer and even planned to leave the Catalan side after issues with the club’s management. He wanted to move from the La Liga club, despite being there for more than 15 years. The 33-year-old footballer’s latest record comes after new boss Ronald Koeman claimed his performances ‘could be better’ this campaign. The forward definitely responded in style. Lionel Messi may not be too happy at the moment, but even at his most miserable, the player can’t help but demonstrate the best results. He has already won four UEFA Champions League titles with Barca.
