Barcelona is plotting a return for Jean-Clair Todibo, who is currently on loan at Benfica, according to reports. The Catalan giants have been hit by injuries in the 2020–21 season. This has made head coach Ronald Koeman run out of options for his defensive line.
All four key center-backs are now sidelined with Gerard Pique not available for several months. The situation has already triggered rumors the La Liga side will eye new candidates in January to bolster their squad. However, lack of funds is a real problem.
It is said that Jean-Clair Todibo could be coming back to Barca in the winter after failing to perform on loan at the Portuguese club. The 20-year-old player has been recovering from injury and is yet to make an appearance for Benfica this season, which actually could mean his loan deal is cut short.
Barcelona allowed Todibo to go out on loan to Schalke last year and accepted another loan with Benfica in the autumn that also involves a €20 million purchase option.
