India can host U-17 Football World Cup 2017

The central Government of India has finally given green signal for hosting U-17 football World Cup in India. The Prime minister of India Sh. Manmohan Singh has approved the authority of hosting that world cup of 2017. So finally, the world’s most famous game football is gaining support from the local and other bodies of Indian Government. If AIFF gets this opportunity of organizing this tournament, then it will be the 1st ever tournament which will be hosted by India.


States which are selected for the U-17 Football World Cup

This is the 17th under 17 world cup of FIFA. The AIFF of India has selected some states as proposal for hosting the world cup matches. These states are Delhi, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Assam, Goa and Kerala. These are the states which may host the tournament matches in the year of 2017.

Having got the Government clearance, the All India Football Federation was confidence that India would win the right to host the U-17 WC. “This is an extremely positive development for Indian Football & I am confident India would be able to make successful bid with the backing of the government even though there are some other strong contenders,” said by the president of AIFF Praful Patel.

The Union Cabinet gave the go-ahead to India’s ambitious bid to host the tournament by giving its approval to the proposal for submitting guarantees sought by the federation. There are some other countries in this competition which are Ireland, Uzbekistan & South Africa. The quadrennial event will involve 24 of the best youth team in the world & is expected to be held in above states of India.

The final decision on the host country is expected to be taken by the FIFA executive committee in the month of December 2013.
