Barcelona is facing challenging times right now. Josep Maria Bartomeu has announced that Quique Setién has been fired, following their recent crushing loss.
The head coach experienced a challenging end of the campaign, watching Barcelona give the La Liga title to their old enemies, Real Madrid. At that moment, Bartomeu insisted that Setién would continue to work with the team during the next year. However, that was before the embarrassing 8–2 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich, after which rumors started to circulate that Setién’s days at La Blaugrana were numbered.
Ronald Koeman has recently been reported as the candidate to replace Setién. The names of Mauricio Pochettino, and Massimiliano Allegri were also mentioned as possible options for Barca. In addition to this, Barcelona have also been rocked by talks that Lionel Messi plans to leave the team. The superstar has been linked with football giants, including Manchester City, Inter Milan, and PSG.
