Aston Villa have signed Chelsea defender Ross Barkley on a loan. The footballer will spend the next season at Villa Park and is supposed to play a key role in the club’s battle for Premier League remainder this campaign.
The English international seems to have fallen out of favor under Frank Lampard’s leadership as he made just three appearances for Chelsea with one goal this campaign. Ross Barkley left Everton to join the Blues in 2018 and the 26-year-old has played in 86 games at Stamford Bridge, shooting 11 goals.
Villa have already won their first Premier League games and the English defender could make his debut appearance against Liverpool this weekend. He is Villa’s fifth arrival this transfer window. The player follows in the footsteps of Bertrand Traore, Emiliano Martinez, Ollie Watkins, and Matty Cash. Jack Grealish also prolonged his contract with Villa for five years to stop speculation about his future.
