Arsenal Reopen Contract Talks With Folarin Balogun

The Gunners restarted talks with Folarin Balogun over a new deal, according to reports. The Englishman’s contract expires in June, and he was the subject of interest from Sheffield United this summer. However, their £3 million bid was turned down. It was expected that the 19-year-old player would be sold during the summer transfer window, but, according to sources, Arsenal have opened intense talks with the striker’s representatives to find a solution. The young footballer made his debut in the first team last month, and head coach Mikel Arteta allegedly wants to keep him in the squad. The forward is a free agent this summer, so he can start negotiations with foreign clubs from January, but he could yet stay at Emirates Stadium for the next one or two years. Balogun is considered one of the most promising young attackers in Great Britain right now. He has scored three goals and made several assists for Arsenal’s U23s this campaign.
