Arsenal seem to strengthen the squad right now. The Telegraph states that the Gunners have their eye on Runar Alex Runarsson this summer. It has been claimed that the Premier League side have negotiated with Dijon over the move of their goalkeeper. The English football club are reportedly looking at the Iceland international footballer as an alternative for Emiliano Martinez, who is planning to leave for Aston Villa.
The Gunners are also interested in David Raya – described as “a very good goalkeeper” by theBrentford boss in 2019 – but he is too expensive. As mentioned in the report, he may cost £10 million, while Runarsson would come at the price of £1.5 million.
Runarsson has shown impressive results for Dijon over the latest two campaigns, and the player also has five caps for the Iceland national football team. Arsenal need to save some money on a second-choice goalkeeper, so signing Runarsson would be a great option.
