Arsenal are crashed again by Bayern

Last week Arsenal was kicked off by Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League last 16. And now the story repeats. The Gunners lost 5-1 in Bavaria. The end of the match could be predicted even before the first half ending.

Arsenal had a very good start when Theo Walcott scored the first goal in 20th minute. But then everything went wrong. Laurent Koscielny was sent off on the 53rd and Lewandowski immediately equalized score with a penalty. It gave Bayern a 6-2 aggregate lead.

Then it was a real massacre. Germans placed 4 goals in 30 minutes. Now it’s 10-2 on aggregate and it’s the worst result of an English side in the Champions League. Arsenal hadn’t such losses since November 1998. They lost with 5-0 vs Chelsea in the League Cup.

It’s also one of the final matches under Wenger’s lead. And that was a really embarrassing. Nobody really had a hope for a miracle, but at least Arsenal’s fans expected a decent game, not a punishment.

Even Alexis Sanchez was caught laughing on the Gunners bench. Apparently, it was not the best night for gifted Chilean striker nor for Arsene Wenger too.
