All pairs of the 1/4 finals of the European Championship-2020 became known

The English national team prevailed over the German national team and reached the quarterfinals of the European Football Championship. In the first half, the opponents did not score goals, and in the second, two classic flank attacks of the hosts ended with goals. Raheem Sterling scored for the third match in a row, and Harry Kane scored his first goal.

Unlike some other confrontations within the 1/8 finals of Euro 2020, the match between the national teams of England and Germany had every right to bear the title of a football classic. At least because these two countries were united by a long history of rivalry at various tournaments, the first meeting took place back in 1908. Since then, the opponents have shared the field 35 more times, winning almost an equal number of times — 16:15 favouring the“three lions”.

In another match of the 1/8 finals of Euro 2020, the Ukrainian national team beat the Swedish national team. The game was held at the Hampden Park stadium in Glasgow (Scotland) and ended with a score of 2:1. Midfielder of the national team of Ukraine, Alexander Zinchenko, opened the score in the match. In the 43rd minute, Swedish midfielder Emil Forsberg completed a positional attack with a shot from behind the penalty area. The ball flew into the goal after a rebound from a defender. In extra time, Sweden defender Markus Danielsson received a straight red card. At the end of overtime, Artem Dovbik scored the winning goal with his head.
