According to reports, Newcastle are going to let Achraf Lazaar go when the winter transfer window starts. The 28-year-old player has failed to demonstrate his skills on Tyneside. In fact, he made just ten appearances in more than four seasons at the squad. How did it happen?
The former Palermo man arrived with a great reputation but has struggled to take part in regular-season games at St James’ Park. Since then, the Morocco international has played on loans with Sheffield Wednesday, Benevento, and Cosenza, but none of those clubs offered him a permanent contract.
Lazaar’s contract with the Premier League side ends next year and his future at Newcastle is unclear. Moreover, Steve Bruce didn’t name him as part of his squad. It means that the club are planning to sell him in winter.
Achraf Lazaar has stated that his agent is taking care of a possible exit in January, adding that he can’t wait for new challenges.
