Peter Tom, the Leicester Tigers Chairman has given an assurance to the supporters that they are not using the club resources for developing a project around the stadium of Welford Road instead of using it for the playing side.
Recently, there have been rumors about building a hotel spending £22 million in the summer months of 2019 and if these funds are going to be drawn out from the team resources. The hotel is going to feature a reception, dining area, lounge, and a business center of 3,300 meters. It is also going to have the lobby and retail areas that open up on the fan zone of the Tigers along the restaurant, fitness suite, and 5th-floor sky bar.
However, the chairman of Leicester City on Sunday has come up against it strongly and said that he has received several emails and come across many social media posts about the future of the club. There is another issue he addressed and that is the plan to develop a hotel along with a car parking just beside the stadium will not take away the investment in teams playing side in any way.
He says that it isn’t just related to paying the salary of the players but includes the funding support of the squad regarding the facilities and staff around them. Tom adds about the meeting with Racing, the French opponents and said that it was a unique opportunity to take part in the game in the indoor space and it creates your own memories on such occasions.
