West Ham 1:0 Chelsea: first win under David Moyes command

Chelsea continues showing a poor performance in the Premier League. At the same time, Hammers got the first victory after Moyes arriving.

The winning goal was netted very early by Marko Arnautovic on 6’. Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard struggled to score an equalizer, but they couldn’t succeed until the very end. Today West Ham earned three points at the Olympic Stadium, which gives them a little boost for next festive period.

Blues fall behind for 11 points from current Premier League leaders Man City. Tomorrow Pep Guardiola’ squad will clash with Red Devils on the Old Trafford derby.

Despite the loss, Antonio Conte is determined. He told that the squad looked tired today but they will continue fighting, “When you lose a game it is normal to be disappointed. Our start was bad, however, it was because we were very tired. We did a lot of mistakes, especially in the last half. But it is a very difficult league. There are six top teams and four of them go to Champions League. Nevertheless, we should fight and do our best”.

After the 1-0 win, West Ham rose above Swansea to 18th place in the Premier League. They will clash against Arsenal on Wednesday 13th.

Chelsea still third behind three points to Man United and 11 points below Man City. Next Blues will face Huddersfield Town at the Stamford Bridge Stadium on Tuesday.
