Watford secured their first win of the 2016/2017 Premier League season in one of the most memorable matches so far this season. They went two goals down to West Ham courtesy of the in form midfielder Michail Antonio, but a couple of dreadful defensive mistakes and one outstanding strike from the skipper Troy Deeney meant that they went into half-time all square. Overall they have one of the most difficult starts to the season, with their first five Premier League fixtures consisting of Southampton away, Arsenal and Chelsea at home, West Ham away and Manchester United at home.

On the other hand, Manchester United’s start to the season was fascinating one as new head-coach Jose Mourinho and star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic led the Red Devils to a Community Shield victory and three straight Premier League wins. However, last weekend Mourinho’s archrival Pep Guardiola visited Old Trafford, and his Manchester City side outmuscled their hosts to take a 2-1 away victory. This was followed by a surprising midweek loss at Feyenoord in the Europa League, and whilst Mourinho did rest some important first team players he will still have expected a win for his side.
