The German & Bayern Munich star forward Mario Gotze scored the winning goal for his national team in the second half of the extra time. Final match of FIFA World Cup 2014 was approaching to penalties, but it was Gotze who netted the winning goal for which the Germans were waiting for. The first half was goalless with some missed chances by both teams. It would have been lead of 1-0 for the whites & sky blues if Gonzalo Higuain didn’t miss the best chance. It was only Manuel Neuer to be beat, but his shot was well off target. Later he scored, this time the flag was raised & goal was disallowed. First ended with 0-0.
In 88th minute of second half, German coach J. Low brought Gotze in to replace the top goal scorer of Germany Miroslav Klose, again second half remained goalless. Both teams failed to break the deadlock in first half of extra time. Only 15 minutes were remaining for penalty shootout.
The Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh also made a prediction on Twitter. In his tweet, he said “OK Let’s predict! Both teams will scored in extra time! Then Germany wins on penlaties although I would to Arg to!“

Second half of extra time began & DFB eleven decided to attack more instead of making passes. The Chelsea forward Andre Schurrle made a fantastic rune along with a perfect cross for 22 years old. Mario Gotze judged the ball extremely well & scored a memorable goal with left foot which took lead of 1-0. That was the moment for which Die Mannschaft & their fans were waiting for. 2 minutes of extra time was given after total of 120 minutes. Luckily, Argentina got free kick at few yards away from penalty box, taken by the captain Lionel Messi of-course. All eyes were focused on him, expecting a miracle from his left foot. He ran for free kick, shoots the ball but again it was well off target. With that missed free kick, German fans began their celebration. In the end, the referee blown the last whistle of 2014 FIFA World Cup which added one more golden star on badge of Germany National Football Team. After the match, coach low said “I told Gotze to show the World he is better than Messi.”
