United States girls are the new champion of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015. On Sunday, US thrashed the defending champions Japan by 5-2 at BC Place, Vancouver on Sunday night and clinched its third World Cup title. USA are the only team who win the World Cup thrice. USA dominated the match through the first minute which resulted United scored 4 goals in the first 16 minutes of the match, thanks to Carli Lloyd who scored a hat trick. A fantastic start helped United States to clinch the FIFA Women’s World Cup title in 16 years. With a convincing win over Japan, the USA passed the record of Germany 2 titles and became the third time champions. Watch out below the USA vs Japan 5-2 highlights video.

The hectic goals inside the 16 minutes of the match by US girls, putted the Japan on the back foot which resulted that USA took the lead over Japan with 4-1 in the first half of the match. Japan was left to rue its defending from set-pieces and US made it pay early on.

Carli Lloyd struck first goals in the third minute of the match with a power side footed effort. After just 2 minutes, Llyod scrambling in from close range. In the 14th minute, the poor clearance from Japanese defenders paid it with another goal and the scoreline was 3-0 in the first 14 minutes. Lloyd completed her hat-trick in the 16th minute with a halfway shoot after spotting Japanese goalkeeper off her line.

In the 27th minute, Ogimi scored a goal for Japan and gave some hopes of a comeback. The comeback continued with Japan’s second goal after starting seven minutes of the second half as Johnston headed past her own keeper Solo to make it 4-2.  Japan conceded once more soon after Heath strike seal the win and the title also.
