Euro 2016 Telecast Rights in UEFA, USA, Canada & Others

The Union of European Football Association has announced the list of TV broadcast & telecast rights of EURO 2016. TV channel ESPN will provide telecast in USA, while TSN & RDS won broadcasting rights in Canada. The International Broadcast Center [IBC] will be located at the Parc des Expositions at la Porte de Versailles in Paris. Host nation France will see 3 rights holders bring the competition to the viewers in names of beIN Sports, TF1 & M6. Selected matches will be telecasted by TF1 along with M6, while, beIN sports is selected to telecast all matches of upcoming competition.

So far, 8 UEFA nations are declared to provide live action of Euro 2016 qualifiers & final games. Remaining broadcast rights are yet to be announced. Given below is the list of confirmed broadcasting right holders for UEFA Euro 2016 in Europe.

ESPN – The US Telecast Provider Of UEFA Euro 2016

The telecast provider of 2014 FIFA World Cup in North America won broadcasting rights in North America. ESPN will provide live coverage as well as highlights of upcoming games. The marketing director of UEFA Events said:

“Following a very successful experience with UEFA EURO 2008, we are extremely pleased to extend or partnership for UEFA EURO with ESPN & TSN for the next two tournaments. With interest on football growing significantly in North America both broadcasters will no doubt provide great visibility for UEFA’s national team competitions through their promotional and programming capacity. These long term partnerships demonstrate the strength of the EURO as a global property and together with ESPN and TSN, we are committed to further enhancing it in future”

ESPN [Entertainment and Sports Programming Network] holds the rights to provide the live telecast of Euro 2016 championship. ESPN is owned by The Walt Disney Company and Hearst Corporation. The headquarter of ESPN is located in Bristol, Connecticut.

Fox Sports provided the live telecast of qualifying round, but rights to provide broadcast of Euro 2016 finals have been won by ESPN. Its sister channels ESPN2, ESPN3 etc. also holds rights for domestic football leagues like Premier League, La Liga.

ESPN is one of the best sports channels that covers almost every sport. As of February 2015, ESPN was available for 94,396,000 paid televisions households only in United States. In addition with its other seven sister channels, ESPN provides live telecast in more than 200 countries.

 

In India & other South Asian countries, Sony SIX will provide the live coverage of EURO 2016. This TV channel was telecast holder of 2014 World Cup also. Viewers will be able to watch live action & highlights of upcoming campaign.

So these are the Euro 2016 telecast channels. UEFA Euro 2016 will be the 15th edition of the competition which is beginning from 10 June to 10 July 2016 in France. This is the first time in history of this competition that 24 teams will compete for the title.
