UEFA Champions League 2014–15 Groups, Fixtures Schedule

Groups and fixtures schedule of UEFA Champions league for 2014–15 season are now revealed by the governing body of European football. All thirty two best teams of Europe are now divided into 8 groups which consists of 4 teams each. Title holders Real Madrid will face Liverpool, FC Basel and Ludogorets Razgrad in group stage games. Dates of group stage games are also announced by UEFA. The group stage games will begin from 16 September 2014 and last match of this round will be played on 9 October 2014. UEFA Champions League 2014–15 Groups

The 60th edition of Champions League competition is all set from 16 Sept with group stage games. Its draw was held in Monaco on 28 August 2014. 32 teams were drawn into eight groups of four, with the restriction that teams from the same association could not be draw against each other. This meas teams from same nation could not play group stage match against each other. Eighteen national associations will be represented in the group stage round. For the first time in the history of this competition, Ludogorets Razgrad and Malmo FF will play in this Championship. In four season of this tournament, the British club Arsenal and German club Borussia Dortmund are in same group for third time. The gunners were knocked in pre quarter finals by Bayern Munich and Dortmund were eliminated by the title holder with an aggregate score of 3–2 in quarter finals. Out of these eight groups, Group A is the only group in which all teams are champions of there respective leagues. Also, Group E and F is consists of 3 domestic league champions.

Cristiano Ronaldo Wins Best Player in Europe Award

Ronaldo receiving Europe best player trophy Cristiano Ronaldo added one more trophy by winning Best Player in Europe Award for the first time in his career. Before Ronaldo, three players named Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Franck Ribery won this award and now we have forth player who won this trophy. He scored 17 goals in UCL 2013–14 season, highest than any other player in a single season of UEFA Champions League competition. After name winner announcement the 29 years old winger said “I’m really happy so I must say thanks to my team-mates because without the team, individual awards would not be possible.” Along with him, Arjen Robben and Manuel Neuer were nominated for the best player of Europe.
