The draw ceremony for the UEFA Champions League 2021/22 took place in Istanbul, Turkey. Thirty-two clubs will take part in the 67th draw of the most prestigious club tournament of the Old World, the final of which will be held in St. Petersburg.
According to the competition rules, clubs from the same association could not get into the same group. Also, UEFA breeds Ukrainian and Russian clubs. At this stage, the Russian champion Zenit, the first and second teams from Ukraine Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar, and the Moldovan champion Sheriff recognized their opponents in the group, in particular.
This year, Chelsea legends Branislav Ivanovic and Michael Essien became especially guests who carried out the draw ceremony.
The composition of the quartets of the group stage of the Champions League of the 2021/22 season:
Group A: Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig, Brugge.
Group B: Atletico, Liverpool, Porto, Milan.
Group C: Sporting, Borussia D, Ajax, Besiktas.
Group D: Inter, Real Madrid, Shakhtar, Sheriff.
Group E: Bayern, Barcelona, Benfica, Dynamo.
Group F: Villarreal, Manchester United, Atalanta, Young Boys.
Group G: Lille, Sevilla, Salzburg, Wolfsburg.
Group H: Chelsea, Juventus, Zenit, Malmo.
The first matches of the group stage of the 2021/22 LCH will be held on September 14 and 15. The final of the tournament will be held on May 28 in St. Petersburg at Gazprom Arena. Schedule of matches of the group stage of the Champions League 2021/22:
