The Most Successful team of European Championship
Spain along with Germany are the most successful teams of this competition. Both teams have won this title three times, more than any other European team. Being the defending winners of UEFA Euro, it will be more difficult for Spain to keep this title against 23 football teams.
After defeating Italy by 4–0 in the final of last edition, Spain claimed the third title. Barcelona’s midfielder Andres Iniesta was named as the best player of the tournament. Six players — Mario Mandzukic, Mario Gomez, Mario Balotelli, Cristiano Ronaldo, Alan Dzagoev and Fernando Torres scored 3 goals each in Euro 2012. Spain qualified for fifteenth edition of Euro football competition as winner of Group C. Throughout the qualifiers round, they won nine games and lost one, collected total of 27 points. They scored 23 goals and conceded just 3 in that process.

Spain have been grouped in D group with Czech Republic, Turkey and Croatia. Their first match is against Czech Republic which is scheduled to be played on 13th June 2016.
