Southampton Vs Manchester United Live Online Commentary

Southampton have finally managed to end the negative spell of five outings on the bounce without a win. In their most recent Premier League match they managed to see off the relegated Middlesbrough 1-2 away from home at the Riverside Stadium. The team led by head coach Claude Puel thus still has chances for making it to the top half of the table at the end of the season and they will be slightly more motivated team here. As regards host team squad news ahead of this match: key central defender Virgil van Dijk and Alex McCarthy will both miss out again, but  the forward Charlie Austin is hoping to start after returning from the bench at the weekend and left-back Matt Targett is also available.

On the other hand, the Red Devils have practically lost all hopes for making the top four at the end of the season in the Premier League table. Portuguese specialist Jose Mourinho will thus likely rotate his starting lineup in the upcoming fixture. The Sunday’s loss to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane was the fourth straight Premier League fixture without a win for Manchester United. The Red Devils do not have motivation to push hard in the domestic competition as they will feature the UEFA Europa League final with Ajax in Stockholm next Wednesday. As for United team news: they remain without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young, Luke Shaw, and Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
