Wesley Sneijder, the ex-Netherlands and Inter midfielder has already uncovered his intention to leave professional football.
He will be present at the stadium the whole season. However, instead of playing himself, he will stay in his own skybox.
In his interview to reporters, the player told he adores the city of Utrecht. He added that he had been relishing a thought of coming here for a long time. Now he has managed to make this come true. The player hopes he’s going to enjoy a great football season.
Playing for Inter, the ex-midfielder aged 35 managed to shoot up to 22 goals and assisted 25 ones for 116 in 2009–2013.
As a matter of fact, in 2010, he won the Champions League, the Treble of a Scudetto, and Coppa Italia but was unavailable on the Ballon d’Or.
Besides this, he also played for Al-Gharafa, Nice, Real Madrid, Ajax, and Galatasaray.
Additionally, the player appears to be his country’s record cap holder. He assisted his country to get to the 2010 World Cup Final.
