Sarri’s future set to be resolved ahead of a potential Chelsea move.

Mauricio Sarri’s contractual situation with Napoli is set to be resolved by the end of this month, according to Sky sources in Italy.

The Serie A side has already brought in Carlo Ancelotti as his replacement with the former Madrid boss ready to officially resume duties on July 1. Sarri guided the Italian club to a second place finish after a keenly contested title campaign with eventual Champions Juventus in Serie A but was deemed surplus to requirements by the club’s executives.

Reports from Sky sources in Italy suggest that Napoli are unwilling to pay the wage bill of the two managers at the same time. However, Sarri’s exit from the club had been delayed by the Italian club’s compensation demands

Chelsea could have to pay £4.5m if they were to employ Sarri before July 1 but that figure would go up to £7m after that date.

On the other hand, the London based club would also have to compensate current manager Antonio Conte to cover the final year of his contract.

Some reliable sources in England recently revealed that Sarri’s representatives were in London earlier this week to finalize a deal for him to take over at Stamford Bridge.

Further reports confirmed that Sarri already has a backroom staff in place which includes former Chelsea player Gianfranco Zola. The Chelsea legend was involved in some punditry duties in Russia for a South African broadcaster but has now flown back to London.
