Hugo Aveiro has tipped his brother Cristiano Ronaldo to make history and embrace the challenges awaiting him at Juventus in the Serie A
Ronaldo, 33, completed his €112m switch from Real Madrid last month and had begun pre-season training with his new teammates at the club’s training ground in Vinovo.
Much has been made of Ronaldo’s surprise transfer to Italy with many left wondering whether he can reach the same kind of heights he achieved at Real over the past nine years.
But Hugo has no doubts over that at all.
“From my point of view, he has chosen an exceptional club, and he will help them to achieve excellent results.
“Among other things, Italy is a marvelous country in which to play football. There has always been a great League here.
“Knowing him as I do, he will give everything in his body to keep himself at the level he is at – and even to improve.
“I am sure his performances will be of a high level. Serie A is a very competitive League, and I am sure he will make part of the history of this League.
“It’s a new challenge for him, and he always loves having new challenges in front of him.”
“I think Cristiano will have success with Juventus,” said Aveiro, according to Football-Italia.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will likely make his Serie A debut when Juventus confront Chievo Verona on August 18, which will be streamed live on Facebook free of charge.
