Romelu Lukaku is set to miss Manchester United’s remaining two Premier League games as he battles to return to action for the F.A Cup final against Chelsea on May 19.
The Belgian hitman injured his ankle in the game against Arsenal at Old Trafford. He was absent in the squad that faced Brighton and would be sidelined for the club’s trip to West Ham and Watford at home.
Jose Mourinho equally confirmed his top scorer is currently fighting to be fit for the F.A Cup final after admitting he won’t feature again in the League games this season.
The Portuguese manager also revealed Marouane Fellaini would be absent for the game against the Hammers after suffering another setback in what has been an injury-ravaged campaign.
‘It’s a muscular problem,’ said Mourinho. ‘Again we try to see if it is possible for the last match.’
United’s only hope for a Silverware this campaign lies in the F.A Cup, and they would be hoping that their top marksman shakes off the injury to be fit against Chelsea.
