Chris Smalling may swap England for Italy this transfer window. The English centre-back spent the 2019–20 season at Roma and now, the Serie A side want to have him on a permanent basis. The Italian club have restarted talks with Man Utd and bid €12 million to sign the footballer this summer.
The 30-year-old defender had a hard time at Old Trafford but flourished in Italy with his skills and talent proving to be a great asset at the energetic Serie A club. The Red Devils made Smalling return to the club as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a plan for him. However, the situation seems to have changed when Roma made an official offer over Smalling to United. It is assumed that Manchester plan to receive more than €12 million from the sale, but there might be room for compromise.
The former Fulham man is not the only footballer being discussed between the Reds and Roma. The clubs are reportedly in talks for a possible transfer involving Fred.
