Chris Smalling has moved closer to a new deal with Roma this season. Gianluca Di Marzio states that Roma have finally agreed personal terms with the Manchester United defender, which means the player is going to come back to the Serie A club very soon.
Smalling played his last season on loan atStadioOlimpico after going through difficult times at Manchester United, and no one expected the 30-year-old footballer to perform so well. Now, the Italian club are keen to sign the England international on a permanent basis. They even had to offload the likes of AleksandarKolarov and PatrikShick to collect the funds for a move.
According to reports, Roma still need to discuss a final fee with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side. The former Fulham man has two years left on his current contract with United and the Reds won’t let him go for free. The Red Devils want at least €20 million for their centre-back.
