Mauricio Pochettino has been linked to the vacant managerial post at Real Madrid following the shock exit of Zinedine Zidane.
Sources in England confirmed that Real Madrid are yet to contact the Argentine manager but consider him to be a suitable replacement for Zidane considering his style of football. It’s also believed that Pochettino’s contract extension does not faze the current European Champions.
Zizou resigned as the manager just a few days after making history with the team as he became the first coach to win the Champions League three times in a row. The Frenchman said Real needed a “new voice” in the dressing room but denied players in the dressing room influenced his decision.
The managerial position at the Santiago Bernabeu has often been described as the “poisoned chalice” with the club demanding the best brand of football that can put any football coach under intense pressure to deliver.
Other managers linked to the job are Liverpool’s, Jurgen Klopp, and, former Napoli boss Mauricio Sarri.
