Napoli Vs Fiorentina Live Online Commentary
The Partenopei thought they were going to receive a boost in their push for second place last weekend, when the top two met at the Stadio Olimpico. However, Roma pulled off an all-important 3–1 victory over Juventus, and continued their push for an automatic place in the UEFA Champions League. It seems like this race is going down to the wire. Napoli clearly have no intention of slowing down their chase for second, after their marvelous 5–0 victory at Torino last time out. Keeping a clean sheet at the home of one of Serie A’s highest scorers is a brilliant result for Napoli, who really should be pushing for trophies in the final weeks, on current form.
On the flip side, Fiorentina have won six and lost eight of their matches on the road so far, and they are one of the few sides to drop points away to already relegated Palermo. That defeat was a huge blow to their push for Europe spots, but a place in July’s UEFA Europa League qualifiers isn’t exactly something exciting for the players ahead of their summer vacations. Fiorentina have conceded 1.67 goals per game this season away from home, while they’ve shipped at least two goals in their last six matches, including conceding four at home to Inter Milan. Napoli will be relishing this match, and they’ll be confident of at least matching the three goals they scored at la Viola back in December.
