According to news Arsenal made a £92m offer for Thomas Lemar. But the 21-years-old player decided to stay in the Monaco and rejected the proposition in the very last moment.
All the summer Lemar was linked with a move to Barcelona, Man City, Chelsea, Juventus, and Arsenal. Gunners were most interested in the player and Arsene Wenger made three offers all of which was denied.
Arsenal wants Thomas Lemar so badly because they try to close the gap which would occur after Alexis Sanchez leaving. But because of the deal is off Gunners decided to keep Sanchez in the squad and do not sell him to Manchester City.
Earlier on this week Blues have raised their bid up to £60m. It should have been already done: Lemar to Arsenal and Sanchez to City. But something went wrong and now both sides feel embarrassed.
Sanchez was the main target for Man City. The deal should have been one of the biggest transfer of the summer. But the window is closed and the squads could only regret about trying to complete the deal so late.
As for Alexis Sanchez, he made it clear he wants to leave Emirates. Now he will try to stay around in London and preparing for international duty.
