Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is up for another accolade as he has been shortlisted for the best forward award in last season’s Champions League
Mohammed Salah netted 11 goals to help Jurgen Klopp’s side reach the final in Kiev, where he was injured as the Reds lost 3-1 to Los Blancos.
Other nominees in that category include Cristiano Ronaldo – who left Madrid for Juventus this summer and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
City’s Kevin De Bruyne was nominated in the best midfielders category despite going out in the quarter-final stage of the competition.
The Belgium international joins Real Madrid pair Toni Kroos and Luka Modric as the trio of players up for that award.
New Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker could also be named as the Champions League’s best goalkeeper for his performances at former club Roma, but the Brazilian will need to see off Madrid’s Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Buffon – who played for Juventus but is now at Paris St Germain.
Real Madrid players once again dominated the defenders’ category with the trio of Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, and Raphael Varane all up for the award.
